Is 'A' always for Apple? And is Z always for 'Zoo' or 'Zylophone?'

Here at Joshua Cartwright books we don't think so.

Our children have grown up in the UK and overseas (Caribbean/South America)

​

It would be more likely for some of them that A would be for ANT, B would be for BALL (a cricket ball!).

​

So C would not be for CAT. Cats in South America are not generally kept as pets. C would better be for COCONUT and D would be for DRUM-the shipping kind!

So, we have created the Granny JJ Caribbean A-Z where A is for ANT, I is for ICE, P is for PALM and Z is for ZINC(roof!)

You can talk to your children or grandchildren about your upbringing and the land you love while teaching them reading - one of the most important skills!

​

Western TV is not aimed at showing us a real Caribbean lifestyle (although Death in Paradise and Rastamouse are enjoyable!) If you don't teach them, who will?
